PA Workshop

Join us Saturday Aug 16th from 1-2PM for the 2025 PA Workshop! Your instructor will beAdam Smestad -  a writer, director, producer, script supervisor, assistant director, andproduction assistant based out of Boulder, CO. He began working in the film industry in 2018,and eventually left a career in the law to pursue his dream of working in film andentertainment. He has worked on more than 50 sets, which include film, television andcommercial projects. Adam began his career as a production assistant in Chicago and hasexperience working in the production office, in the art department, camera department, sound,G&E, crafty/catering, and is excited to share his experiences and advice to those looking tobreak into the industry.The PA Workshop is designed for novice production assistants and those looking to break intothe industry, as well as more experienced PAs looking to bone up on their skills. Adam will gothrough the basics of the responsibilities of a PA, the qualities that make you stand out as a PA(and get you rehired), and tips he’s learned from his time working on set.The event will be held in the Arapahoe Room on the 2nd floor of the Boulder Main Library branch.
